Recent addition to the 'Prince' series of short, early flowering tulips. We loved the warm, sunset tones of this variety - the flowers are lit from within with yellow-gold, whilst the ouside of the petals are burnished with rich copper-salmon. Sought-after old variety (dating from 1916) with neat flowers of cool, lavender-blue. It gave rise to the sport 'Blue Parrot' but is itself hard to come by now. We love to grow it with the dark 'Paul Scherer'. 'Bleu Aimable' has often been justly claimed to be the 'bluest' of the so-called 'blue' tulips, along with its sport 'Blue Parrot'. We find it to be reliably perennial, as might be expected...
