Camassia leichtlinii 'Pink Star'

We have grown this lovely pink form of camassia in our border for many years and now have stock for sale. It remains fairly uncommon at present, as its price reflects. We grow ours in a rose border, where it provides a pretty splash of colour just before the roses come into bloom. Flowering in May/June at around 32" (80cm).

A lovely semi-double form of the cream-flowered plant. It is sterile, so no seed is set. Flowers early summer in an open situation, preferably in heavyish ground, although this whole species is incredibly tolerant of many different situations. A delightful newcomer to our range of camassias, 'Silk River' is a more compact version of camassia leichtlinii alba and, like that species, has flowers of soft cream with a touch of chartreuse. Perfect for the smaller garden or for naturalising in wilder areas of the garden (camassias are all wonderful grown through grass). Flowering in May/June at around 2' (60cm).
