Anemone Coronaria
These large-flowered hybrids make colourful and showy subjects for the border or in containers, producing their pretty, ferny foliage in spring, topped by satiny flowers in late spring/early summer. An early summer planting of the corms will produce a crop of autumn flowers in the year of planting (the corms will subsequently revert to spring flowering in the following years). Flowering will be extended if the corms are kept moist, as drought induces their dormancy period. Excellent as cut flowers.
