Tulipa 'Curly Sue'
Beautiful, charismatic tulip. The fringing is self-coloured but this colour changes subtly, both as the flower ages and in different qualities of light, producing shades of wine, from claret to burgundy.

Tulipa clusiana
The Lady Tulip – this is the true species and now hard to come by. The petals are white with a broad stripe of carmine red on the outer sides. Inside, the flowers are pure white with a striking violet base. Hardy, early season tulip., great for naturalising. Ht. 10" (25cm).

We introduced this variety to the UK quite a few years ago, after being bowled over by it at Keukenhof. We subsequently supplied bulbs to Gardening 'Which' for their bulb trials, where it won a 'Best Buy' award.The double flowers are in warm tones of pink/rose/white and are held up beautifully on strong stems. Tulipa 'Light & Dreamy'

Tulipa 'Pretty Princess'
We trialled this on the farm a few years ago and found it to be a delightful new tulip - great for both containers and for the front of a border. The flowers are bright pink, with darker flaming, and have the rare attribute of a silver edge to the leaves. It has the popular 'Princess Irene' in its heritage and has the same flowering time and height.

We have adored this tulip since first trialling it in our borders a few years ago. The colour seems to work well with any other warm hues - apricot, bronze, orange. Tulipa 'Request'
We first encountered this tulip in the north of Holland some years ago, when it was quite new, and were intrigued by the unusual colour. At the time is was known as 'Quest' and the grower cut some flowers for us to bring home with us. We love it for its wonderful, tapered flowers, in a most unusual blend of copper-orange, flushed rose-mauve on the outside of the petals. The bonus of scent too!

Glowing red flowers with slate green shading on the outers. This late flowering beauty is easily naturalised in ordinary garden conditions and, unusually for a tulip, grows happily in light woodland conditions. Flowering in early summer at 16" (40cm).
