Iris
The flowers of the iris family may be fleeting but they are also some of the most irresistibly beautiful the plant world has to offer. The miniature irises, which present themselves when winter is barely at a close, must be doubly treasured. We include a wide selection here, including some of the new introductions made by Canadian breeder, Alan McMurtrie, which present real breakthroughs in reticulata breeding. These little jewels may look delicate but give them a sunny, sheltered spot, where the soil dries out a little for their summer resting period, and they will richly reward you. A few other irises which we find gardenworthy are also included here. It's worth drawimg attention to the Dutch (hollandica) irises, which flower in early summer, are affordable, incredibly easy to grow and also excellent for cutting. Our established clumps just keep getting better and better every year in the garden. We offer all the most exciting colours!
Please note: we have opened up the 'hollandica' varieties and will open up the rest of the iris range in the next few days (9th June).
