One of the newer, so-called 'Coronet' or 'Crown' tulips. We have to confess to not liking all the introductions which have been made in this group - the shape can be untidy in some manifestations. However, the unique colour of 'Negrita' translates well into this style, making a really neat form. The virtue of the Coronets lies in the strength of their petals, which make for long-lasting flowers both in the garden and as cut flowers. Flowering in April/May at 18" (40cm).
